Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a crucial part in designing robust backend systems that power our state-of-the-art AI-driven security solutions. You’ll own the full development cycle, implement efficient APIs and microservices and ensure high-quality code through reviews and testing.

Responsibilities:

• Implement efficient, reliable APIs and microservices with NodeJS/Typescript while ensuring best practices for a production environment running on AWS and Azure.
• Design, develop and deploy scalable backend solutions for our AI-driven security platform.
• Own the full development cycle, from initial concept and design through implementation, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues, while employing rigorous testing methodologies to ensure system reliability.
• Document system designs and implementation details to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - Product, QA and Data Science.
• Stay updated about emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging them to drive continuous innovation and improvement within our products.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience, building scalable and resilient production systems.
• A builder mindset and a can-do attitude, with the ability to take ownership, solve problems independently, and turn ideas into working solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to build systems from the ground up, navigating uncertainty and defining the approach along the way.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience building large-scale backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience working with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience building microservices and deploying them on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
